WEB DEVELOPMENT

Clay County Prototype

This project was a conceptual website for a land history search tool. This was a group project with the goal of presenting our ideas in a functional format to the museum of Clay County, Kansas.

As a member of the "Mando" team, I designed the look and layout of the website. I also coded the HTML and CSS components. This project taught me how to create dynamic websites that can conform to both mobile and desktop views, an invaluable skill in today's mobile-first landscape.

AAP Website

This group project was requested by the Association of Airworthiness Professionals, Inc., who wanted to redesign their website and update it for modern devices. I conceptualized the layout of the site and the color palette. I designed and coded the home page and the career page, as well as the legal page and privacy policy pages.

HitStop Javascript Game

The goal of this project was to demonstrate a grasp on basic Javascript by creating a program entirely in the language. I created HitStop, a point-and-click shooting game. The targets freeze every time you land a shot, and the game gets faster, so try to combo as many shots in a row as you can!

About Me!

Nice to meet you! My name is Dylan Mangels. I'm a digital creator, specializing in web development, graphic design, and video editing. I aspire to think outside the box and use technology to tell the stories of the future. Hailing from Southwest Kansas, I draw most of my inspiration from music, nature, and the artistic cultures of people around the world. I yearn to be a lifelong learner, believing there is value in every experience. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, drawing, and listening to music. Thanks for coming by!

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Movie Poster Redesign

The goal of this project was to redesign a poster for a popular film. I chose Bee Movie, a 2007 Dreamworks animated movie. I let the theming of the film guide my design, drawing on the two worlds of Barry B. Benson: the hive and the city.

The NIST Collection

These ads were created by me at the K-State University Salina Marketing Department as part of a collaboration with the National Institute of Standards and Technology. These ads promoted their UAS 3D Mapping Challenge, and were featured on social media.
